Weirdoughmationfilms is an award-winning underground stop-motion-animation studio founded 1999 in a basement in Gelnhausen, Germany. Together with the support of several other genrefilm loving artist from his network studiofounder & director Jürgen Kling is combining his passion for Stop-Motion-Animation and 80s/90s genre cinema to create original content that is boldly different and challenging, goes where it hurts and let audiences choke on their own laughter.
CRAPPY CHRISTMAS - YULETIDE SUICIDE
CURRENTLY IN PRODUCTION: "Yuletide – Suicide" is the 4th Film in the Crappy Christmas Series.
As in the previous film "Operation Christmas Child", the film breaks with the viewing habits of mainstream cinema by contrasting the rather cute clay animation look, with mostly taboo topics. The films challenge the viewers with controversial, transgressive and subversive, thought provoking content, tough subjects mixed with dark humor and crazy twists.
Confronting an audience with tough and challenging content creates stress that needs a valve. Therfor an over the top, laughter provoking twist serves as an emergency escape and reward for the viewer and softens the blow. In general the Crappy Christmas films are designed as wild and crazy rides. Unlike adult TV animation series Crappy Christmas is produced for the Big Screen with a high production value and appealing cinematography, animated in real 24fps. Crappy Christmas - Operation Christmas Child screened at 46 international horror/genre film festivals and won 22 Awards and 4 Special Mentions. Incl.: Gran Jury | Best Shortfilm | Best Animation | Best Gore | Best On Screen Death | Extreme Award | Best Horror | Nastiest Of Fest | Best Banned Film | Cult Candidate | Audience Award.
It was published as segment #9 of the DEATHCEMBER Christmas Horror Anthology which screened at about 50 additional festivals and due to Operation Christmas Child won "Most Shocking Film" at Hexploitation Filmfest in Canada. Unfortunately Operation Christmas Child was cut from the U.S. VOD & VHS releases of Deathcember by Shout Scream Factory. This censorship really created lots of problems for the crowdfunding campaigns for YULETIDE SUICIDE. Luckily the film was included in the UNCUT physical U.S. Bluray/DVD release by Culture Shock / Vinegar Syndrome. This release was limited to 2000 copies and sold out quickly.
